Dubovoy Integrative Health, PLLC
Vera Dubovoy, M.D.
Vera Dubovoy, M.D. is dual board-certified in OB-GYN and Lifestyle Medicine. She has over 1000 hours of training in integrative medicine and functional medicine including health and wellness coaching, nutrition, and herbal medicine. In addition to being an OB-GYN physician, she is a certified yoga instructor with a passion for healthy living and eating. She strives to help patients regain a balance in their lives. She believes in personalized wellness and nourishing our physical, emotional and spiritual health. She was raised very holistically with a chiropractor father and Indian mother. She has relied primarily on chiropractic care to maintain her health throughout her life. She entered medical school with the intention of bridging the gap between Allopathic Medicine and Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Baylor University and went on to complete her medical degree in 2013 at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of New Mexico and The University of Texas - Houston. She stayed on as faculty for the Department of OB-GYN at the University of Texas after graduation of residency and served as the Resident Wellness Director. She completed Advanced Hormone Training at the Institute for Functional Medicine and also co-authored a Lifestyle Medicine book chapter entitled "Optimal Nutrition for Women." She is a graduate of the Hill College Holistic Wellness Pathway, a NANP-approved Holistic Nutrition, Health and Wellness Coach Training Program, and Herbalist Education Program. Additionally, she completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate by the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University. Along the way, she managed to birth, nurse and continues to raise two wonderful children. She understands first-hand the challenges of working mothers to create balance, health and well-being in their lives.
During medical school, she quickly realized how difficult it was to manage a busy workload and still remain balanced. She started a regular yoga practice in medical school, which she continues to this day. During her residency training, she was in an accident where a dear family member of hers became paralyzed from a complete spinal cord injury. This trauma left her devastated. She utilized complementary and alternative medicine including trauma-sensitive yoga to heal. She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teaching Training Certification in 2017 with additional certifications in Prenatal yoga, Postnatal yoga, and Trauma-Sensitive yoga teacher training.

After practicing OB-GYN in the hospital setting and delivering over 700 babies into this world, she realized the traditional field of OB-GYN does not allow for a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, after having her second child, it became obvious that she needed to take a leap of faith and finally become the physician that she herself sought. In 2022 she decided to start her own holistic medical practice. She relocated with her family to Virginia and enjoys spending time with her husband, an Integrative Neurologist, their young daughter and son. She can be occasionally found in a handstand.
